Bridgestone IAME Winter Series Race 2

March 1st, 2011 - The second round of the 2011 Bridgestone IAME Winter series race was held in Sumas, WA this past weekend.  A ton of prizes where raffled off such as, Seattle Mariners tickets, VPMS98 fuel and Douglas wheels. Race winners were also awarded a set of Douglas mag wheels.  It was a little chilly but the rain held off which allowed for some very exciting racing.  The grid was set by pea picking which promoted a lot of passing and racing.   It also allowed for more practice time which racers welcomed.

The biggest class of the weekend was the 11 kart shifter field.  When the dust settled and the drivers lined up for the final it was Jurca, Valiante, Ruscitti, Hargrove and McGregor. The drivers ran the 12 lap final nose to tail jockeying for positions.  At the finish line you could have thrown a blanket over the top five with Jurca, Valiante, Ruscitti, McGregor and Hargrove.

The second biggest class of the weekend was IAME senior.  When they lined up for the final, Valiante was on pole and led most of the race with Hargrove and Laithwaite close behind.  It was an 8 kart train when the chequered flag flew with Hargrove in first followed by Valiante, Laithwaite, Rzadzinski, McGregor, Isman and O’Farrell.

Tag Senior and 4 cycle ran together with Jim Hargrove taking the top honours and Chris Barker placing second.  In 4 cycle senior Greg Henderson took the third spot while Glen Blankers took second and Scott Barlee was first.

In Junior, Jordan Redlin took the win and also won himself a set of wheels while his sister Chloe Redlin placed second and Kiln Henderson was third.

The next race is on the 26th of March and we hope to see you!  Many more prizes are still up for grabs!  For more information, visit www.simaracing.com
