Italian Motors Drive Adam Isman Readies for Vegas

With only four weeks remaining until the start of SKUSA’s SuperNationals XV event, Adam Isman is putting his final preparations together.

Isman, an 8-year karting veteran from Vancouver, BC has been an Italian Motors (www.italianmotors.com) team driver since the beginning of the 2009 season. For the second year in a row, he will be piloting an IAME Leopard engine in the stacked 80 kart TAG Senior field aboard the same Italkart chassis that won last year’s event. After some back luck in last year’s race, he is looking to take the experience and apply it to this year’s event. This time around, Isman’s kart will be tuned by Seth Ingham. The two clicked right away when they worked together for the first time at SKUSA’s SpringNationals event in Tucson, AZ where they showed promising pace.

“I know Italian Motors will provide me with the best equipment in the field. They have proven that time and again. I’m also very excited to have the opportunity to work with Seth again.”

Isman has enjoyed his most successful season in karting to date, highlighted by a trip to the top of the podium at the IKF Gold Cup in the IAME Cup class at his home track, Sumas International Motorsports Facility (www.simaracing.com).

“I’ve had way more seat time than ever before in both my Leopard and TAG ICC shifter kart since SIMA opened up in July of last year. It is a technical, challenging world class facility. Since I started logging laps there, I have found my speed on every other track has increased dramatically.”

Isman’s 2011 season was busy, having done double-class duty on most of the 19 race weekends he took part in at 9 different facilities and jumping in the kart on many other weekends throughout the year.

“My aggressive testing and racing schedule is a huge reason why I have improved so much as a driver this year. However, I can’t take all the credit for my success. I need to thank my driving coach Michael Valiante for his time and attention. Being able to race against him and my other teammates week in and week out is invaluable. I also wish to thank everybody else at Italian Motors for all of their hard work. We are a very tight knit team and we’ve all worked hard together getting ready for this race. Finally I would like to thank my parents for all of their support.”

“Adam has come a long way. He has always been quick but he has really buckled down working hard in both shifter and Tag and getting as much seat time as he can. It shows since he has won races against high caliber drivers this year” Valiante added.

SKUSA’s Supernationals XV event will take place from November 15th to 20th at the Rio All Suites Hotel and Casino. More information about the event can be found at

Isman concluded, “I feel a lot more comfortable in the go kart and physically I feel more fit than I ever have before. I’m looking forward to the challenge of this year’s race and I feel confident that I can achieve a top result. I can’t wait to get on the track at the Rio.”
